Real Estate Road Signs – No Cost Credit Repair

September 12, 2008

Click these links to see the rest of my series on Real Estate Road Signs, where I debunk the silly real estate related road signs popping up around the Valley. Saw this doozy on the roadside today.

Really?

This one’s just common sense. Nobody runs a business and charges nothing for their services. They’d go out of business darn quick.

There’s gotta be a catch. Or a fee. Or both. Call at your own risk.

The sign maker could be a mortgage lender. I know several who help potential home buyers fix up their credit as part of the process of getting ready to buy a home. But those folks aren’t advertising that part of their service portfolio with a hand-lettered, Sharpie marked sign plunked on a stake at the roadside. I’m jus’ sayin’. Putting something as precious as your credit rating in the hands of a person who’s advertising strategy relies on roadside signs might not be your best bet.

Better yet, contact a credit counseling service. The Association of Independent Consumer Credit Counseling Agencies can help you find a nonprofit member in your state to help you sort through your credit difficulties.
